Brighton & Hove Albion eye Millwall star Femi Azeez in transfer boost

Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly interested in signing Millwall's Femi Azeez, a 25-year-old winger who has impressed in the Championship. Azeez has been linked with Hull City and Rangers, but the Seagulls are said to be assessing his potential.

What happened?

Azeez has developed at pace within the ranks of Millwall, establishing himself as one of the Championship's most revered attacking outlets. He delivered 11 goals and eight assists in Millwall's run to the semi-finals of the play-offs last season.

Why it matters for Brighton & Hove Albion

The Seagulls are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, and Azeez's pace and technical prowess could be a valuable addition. With 52 goals scored and 46 conceded so far this season, Brighton & Hove Albion are currently 32 points behind leaders Arsenal.

What comes next?

The transfer window is set to open soon, and it remains to be seen whether Brighton & Hove Albion will make a move for Azeez. With several clubs reportedly interested in the winger, it could be a competitive market for his services.

Femi Azeez's Premier League ambition

In an interview with Flashscore in June, Azeez made it clear he wants to play in the top flight. He said: “As a footballer, you always want to play at the highest level you can. I've had a good season in the Championship, but whenever I achieve something, I'm always hungry for more and looking towards the next step. I'm ambitious both as a footballer and as a person, and I want to reach the highest level possible. The Premier League is the pinnacle of football, and I would love to play there one day. I'll do everything I can to make that happen.”

Azeez, a senior Nigeria international, has been on the books at Millwall since 2024. Prior to his move into the EFL with Reading, the wideman was a non-league player for Northwood, Wealdstone and Hanwell Town.
