George Cox has joined Horsham FC. He is part of the squad for their visit to Slough Town this Saturday.

Cox came through the Seagulls' youth system before building a professional career in the Netherlands. He made 131 appearances in the Eredivisie for Fortuna Sittard and Volendam, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists.

Recent Spells

He returned to England with a move to Swindon Town in August 2024, playing 26 times in League Two. Cox signed for Worthing FC in October 2025 and featured 16 times as they won the National League South title last season, though an injury prevented him from playing in the National League this term.

Local Connection

The move reconnects him with former Brighton teammates Danny Barker and Reece Myles-Meekums at Horsham. Manager Dominic Di Paola highlighted Cox's pedigree. "He’s got real quality and pedigree and has had a good career at a high level," Di Paola said. "He knows Barks and Meeky from being at Brighton together, so he’ll slot straight into the group." Cox lives locally in Horsham, where his children attend school.

The move comes as his former club, Brighton & Hove Albion, sit third in the Premier League with 13 points from six games. Cox will aim to make his Horsham debut away at Slough Town this Saturday.
