David described it as "backpacking and having fun playing football through Europe." David's goalscoring record at Union Saint-Gilloise was what caught Brighton's attention. He scored 41 goals in 82 appearances for the Belgian club. His first season was particularly impressive, as he netted 24 times to help USG win their first Belgian Pro League title in 90 years.
This form followed a prolific spell in Estonia, where he scored 30 league goals in 44 first-team appearances for Kalju.
