Espanyol Set to Return
Despite the setback, Espanyol remain determined to sign the 27-year-old and are expected to submit an improved offer in an attempt to revive negotiations. The Catalan club have identified Igor Julio as one of their priority defensive targets before the transfer window closes.
Brighton Holding Firm
This is not the first time Brighton have rejected an approach for the defender this summer. Brazilian side Cruzeiro also saw an opening bid turned down earlier in the window before attempting to negotiate improved terms. Brighton have consistently indicated they are willing to sell Igor Julio-but only if a club matches their valuation.
